Prestigious award for photographer and CACD leader

Next month Brisbane based Raphaela Rosella will board a flight to Amsterdam to attend the World Press Photography awards where she will receive first prize in the portrait category. Her winning photograph will then tour 100 cities in an around the world exhibition.

Over the past ten years Rosella has achieved great things.  At 16 Rosella was awarded a scholarship from Father Chris Riley’s Youth Off the Streets and completed a Certificate IV in photographic imaging. Around this time she also became involved in CACD company Beyond Empathy’s programs as a participant. Rosella has gone on to gain Bachelor of Photography with First Class Honours, and a Diploma of Community Services. She continues her strong relationship with beyond Empathy as both a photographer and program leader with Beyond Empathy.

At that’s not all! The same night Rosella won the World press Photography award she also won the Memento Pro Australian Photobook of the Year!
